Inspired by their home stadium, the design of this year’s kit pays homage to the Allianz Arena, with a diamond pattern throughout the jersey.
The stadium, as of 2019, has been serving as Bayern’s home field for 14 years.
About FC Bayern Munich
Fußball-Club Bayern München e.V. – its official name – is a notably traditional professional football club based in Munich, Germany.
Founded in 1900, as of 2019, the club boasts a long list of titles in their history, amongst them: 5 Champions League titles and 27 editions of Bundesliga (including previous formats) titles, including the last six editions, back-to-back.
Their most recent Champions League title was the 2012-13 tournament.
They are normally referred to simply as “Bayern”, even though there are other “Bayerns” playing the Bundesliga.
As expected due to its dominance in German football, Bayern collects a list of rivalries featuring the locals: 1860 Munich and 1. FC Nürnberg, and a strong national rivalry with Borussia Dortmund in the last 20 years.
The 2019-2020 kit is supplied by Adidas in a signed deal worth €60 million per year. The current contract has a duration of 15 years, up to 2030.
Bayern’s home stadium is called “Allianz Arena” and is being used for home games since 2005. Before that period Bayern had “Munich Olympic Stadium” as their home stadium.
The stadium was built between 2002 and 2005 and it has capacity for nearly 75,000 supporters.
Stars of the 2019 main squad include players like: 🇨🇴 Colombia’s James Rodríguez, 🇳🇱 Netherlands’ Arjen Robben, 🇵🇱 Poland’s Robert Lewandowski, 🇫🇷 France’s Franck Ribéry, and 🇩🇪 Germany’s Manuel Neuer, managed by 🇭🇷 Croatia’s Niko Kovač.
